Re: Announcement - Fuel ATX PSU adapters available for purchase
Fun fact - regular atx plugs are rated for about 30 "mating cycles" - this means that it could potentially have bad contact after 30 plug/unplug cycles.

30????
That's.... garbage. =((((((
I probably do this in a day depending on what I'm doing.
(yes, I know, I'm probably doing it wrong)

Re: Announcement - Fuel ATX PSU adapters available for purchase
I recall reading a detailed Intel PDF on one of its older CPU sockets, LGA1155 I think, also a surprisingly low number of seat/unseat cycles was officially guaranteed.
Most modern tech is cheap for good reason (and the stuff that isn't is usually just because of a giant markup). The opposite is why rock-built SGIs from 25 years ago are still going. I'm in the midst of repairing an industrial R3K Indigo, the fault was actually the keyboard, nothing wrong with the main system.

QUick update before I go to sleep,
The PCB's arrived, all electronic parts I've had for a couple weeks now.
As a small teaser - the pcb's are in Fuel RED color - I decided that will be the most appropriate for a batch with large outreach.
The production starts this Wednesday, should take a couple days and the batch will be ready for shipping.

Sounds good! Keep me informed. Btw, when the time comes, best to email me aswell, sometimes the message board notifications don't get through.

Re: Announcement - Fuel ATX PSU adapters available for purchase
'Twas a productive Sunday, I got a couple hours work done, completed SMD components on 29 boards today,
some also have ATX plugs and sockets on them - but that will have to wait a couple days to finish.
It turns out that the thicker copper ( one of the major changes in this revision - it's not necessary to add solder on traces anymore ) takes away heat so well it's very difficult to solder the ATX plugs (thick leads etc), especially to the ground plane.
Neither of my two soldering irons works well enough without cranking the temperature way too high (that's not good).
I bought stronger soldering iron that will do the work, it should arrive mid-week.
Cheers.

Re: Announcement - Fuel ATX PSU adapters available for purchase
I ran into that solder problem way back when I found a piece of kit where the *chassis* was part-soldered to the PCB.
Had to dig out my Grand-father's soldering iron to sort it; no idea what power it is, but the handle is wood, the tip is a 1" spike and it probably kicked off global warming when I used it.

Kuba's board works, tested it this passed week. I'm still using a fuel PSU for now but this will be a good backup when my supply of PSUs run out.

I am probably posting from yangxiaolong, HP Z230 with Xeon E3-1230v3, 16GB RAM, GeForce 750ti, and running NetBSD and Windows 8.1 Embedded.

Thanks for your patronage,
I hope you never get to use my board, and I wish all the other users the same
