Welcome to the new forums! I hope these actually get used ... it seemed like a good way to start some discussion :)

Anyway, let me know if you have any problems using it. I already am aware of an issue with e-mail; seems that SGI Freeware PHP doesn't have support compiled in so I'm still looking at that.

You've certainly improved your site from a few years ago. I only knew about it because Google found your IRIX screenshots.

Anyway, I love the site. I keep coming back to it to learn more about SGI's computers just because they're one of those special systems that not too many people know about.

I like the anime.

Glad you like it! I agree the site really sucked a couple of years ago ... I really didn't know what I wanted to do with it back then :) It's helped a lot that I was able to find ready made content management tools to build and maintain the site since I don't have the free time to code this sort of thing myself. Getting some of it to run properly on an IRIX machine has been fun though!

I think Google is one of the only ways you can actually find Nekochan Net since most of the big SGI sites pretend I don't exist (or maybe they really don't know? Nah!) ;)

Awesome site - takes the hard work out of "what's happening in the irix world" :)

Sometimes it's hard to come up with new IRIX material (especially on a daily basis) but I'm trying :) Welcome to the forum!

I just heard from Steve Crockett of SGI that the e-mail issue is a problem with the current fw_php 4.2.3 that testing failed to catch. Has the workaround I implemented been working out (are you receiving e-mails from the board when you should)? I think it is; I can see e-mail leaving the server but if something isn't working right let me know :)

Thanks! I'm sure it's a daily challenge, but well worth it to those of us who work with SGI/Irix and want the latest cool news :)

Just a followup ... thanks to Steve Crockett we're now running the new beta fw_php-4.2.3-sgipl1 with mail() support as of about 30 minutes ago. I changed the server preferences to use the internal mail spool instead of SMTP.

If anyone else needs it, you can find it at http://freeware.sgi.com/beta/fw_php-4.2 ... -2.tardist

Hi Nekonoko,

Well, i've finally made it onto the forums as well. Looks very nice. Last couple of months were a menace because i had to build and install a toilet and a kitchen and powerplug-cabinet all in one go. I'm pretty busted but thanks to you i can find some solace in helping other people with SGI's.

I'll do my best to keep you happy with some new stuff now i have time to do them :) Expect some new Boot logo's (one of my pals, just got a busted Onyx RE2, i have permission to extract the logo): I've already done the Octane (boring) and the Fuel (what were they thinking), and the Onyx Infinite Reality (decent). You wanna?

Also i will review the aterm patch, to make it even more SGI xwsh like. For instance, there is no dimple in the slidebar when you move it...

More logos would be fantastic; especially some of the more obscure/newer ones. I have a collection of high quality Postscript SGI logos from an SGI marketing CD-ROM at ftp://www.nekochan.net/pub/irix/SGI_Logos but they are rather old. Still some great stuff in there though.

And of course I'd love whatever new aterm patches you come up with :)
