Outage

Unread postby nekonoko » Thu Jun 05, 2008 11:28 pm

I apologize for the outage; one of my switches burped, and unfortunately, I was over 1600 miles away on business and couldn't do anything about it until this evening.

Hell yeah! But ye gods, talk about bouncing from delight to despair in seconds - after posting the above,
checked eBay for something, stunned to see it looked like my entire eBay account had been deleted. Password
not recognised, user ID not known, search for a member (me) failed, etc. As if my eBay persona had never been.
An hour of bouncing round help forms (can't submit a question without an account!), got nowhere. Managed to
phone eBay UK (0208 6053000, option 3 for the admins - hope this helps you all!), then while I was talking to
them my account suddenly became accessible again. Anyone had this happen to them? Grud what a scare... are
they trying to give us heart failure??

Sorry for the off-topic, kinda temporarily stressed out... ok, back to joy & happyness! 8---) Yay Nekochan!!
I shall go do a dance and try and get my pulse rate back down... cup of tea... choccy bar...

*phew!* (again :D)

Ian.

I had no idea how addicted I was to this site until two days ago.

Thank god it's back!

WoW, Great to have access again, I thought perhaps I was banned and locked out of the site for less than great posts, and asking too many questions. Was waiting for responses to some questions, and hoped it was only a minor technical problem. A switch sounds like a expensive component in networking though. I am becoming addicted to this site almost as much as the sgi machines.

First I thought my network was causing problems... then it was only Nekochan.net. I dito the above comments... You don't always appreciate something till its not there.

Then the site came back...with Neko's post of the outage, so I started to read posts and it gave me :

I was wondering what was going on; I was in withdrawal. I even tried to get on the IRC channel, I was so desperate.

I came back from a trip to Samoa and when I could not get on to the site I thought "oh no! SGI dropped the hatchet on Nekochan!".
Phew! It's great to have it back.
