My suggestions would be:
--set the card on a flat (non-gloss), contrasting background, and angle from horizontal --move a bright lamp that produces white light near the subject (slightly to the side, if possible) --set your camera on max zoom and move the camera in and out to size the picture --use a tripod (or other stable platform) rather than holding the camera --use a remote trigger (if you have one) or the timer (if you don't) to prevent button-press-induced shake --do not use the camera's built-in flash, as small camera flashes aren't separated enough from the line of view and bounce back into the lens
Hope this helps.
