285 & KVM switch

Unread postby uunix » Thu Aug 06, 2015 3:09 pm

Just a note to folks needing to share a USB keyboard with a PC(or something) and a Power5 285(possible applies to others).

Mine works fine, but when powering on the 285, the keyboard focus MUST be on the 285 otherwise the mouse fails to move.

Not sure if you guys know this and there is another workaround, but that's the safest method I have.

The KVM switch I use a little cute thing by ATEN model:CS-62U that just requires 2 quick SCROLL LOCK key presses.

I also use a KVM for 2 Octane2s' which is a DKVM-2 from D-LINK which works flawlessly.

Hope this helps.
