Hi,

Has anyone built firefox 1.5 for AIX 5.3...?
I am missing GTK so far ..
./configure gives me a message about GTK 2.x > 1.3.x or something.

Thanks, and I downloaded it.
For some reason, last time I was at that page, I gave up on it and decided to build from source.
Maybe it was the log into your IBM account stuff.
Actually I think I was looking for something to give the box a bit of a work-out.
Few things put load on a machine and test your build environment like building firefox..

Build OpenOffice. That'll bring any machine to its knees.

I have heard OpenOffice was a pain to build.
NeoOffice runs super slow on my 1.2GHz G4..

Firefox works and was relatively painless to install.

Although I did have to install these dependencies:
atk-1.10.3-2.aix5.1.ppc.rpm
cairo-1.0.2-6.aix5.1.ppc.rpm
expat-1.95.7-4.aix5.1.ppc.rpm
fontconfig-2.2.2-5.aix5.1.ppc.rpm
freetype2-2.1.7-5.aix5.1.ppc.rpm
gettext-0.10.40-6.aix5.1.ppc.rpm
glib2-2.8.1-3.aix5.1.ppc.rpm
gtk2-2.8.3-9.aix5.1.ppc.rpm
libjpeg-6b-6.aix5.1.ppc.rpm
libpng-1.2.8-5.aix5.1.ppc.rpm
libtiff-3.6.1-4.aix5.1.ppc.rpm
pango-1.10.0-2.aix5.1.ppc.rpm
xcursor-1.0.2-3.aix5.1.ppc.rpm
xft-2.1.6-5.aix5.1.ppc.rpm
xrender-0.8.4-7.aix5.1.ppc.rpm
zlib-1.2.3-3.aix5.1.ppc.rpm

I have a cdrom with over 600Mb of AIX freeware downloads.
If anyone wants a copy PM me.
