model: IBM 44p 170
processor: POWER3-II 400 MHz 64 bits
memory: 1 GB (2x512)
hard disk: 9.1 GB
video card: GXT4000P
I upgraded the firmware to the last version and installed AIX 5.3, it works quite fine. I'm using this system to play and to learn AIX.
I'm amazed about how smooth runs this system, the processor is outdated but the entire system has a very good performance.
uname -a on both systems:

Some notes about dual boot AIX/Debian:
After upgrade the firmware to the last version I obtained the error 20EE000B (The system was unable to find an operating system on the device list that was attempted).
I upgraded again and then Linux boot got frozen showing this message:
boot: install64
Please wait, loading kernel…
Elf64 kernel loaded…
Loading ramdisk…
Claim failed for initrd memory
ramdisk load failed !
ENTER called ok

According to this page
http://oss.gonicus.de/openpower/index.p ... trd_memory you can solve the problem typing:
dev nvram
wipe-nvram
Now switch off and switch on, boot from CD and Linux will boot again.
I think NVRAM gets corrupted in some way and it is necessary to clear the configuration.
