Trade in a Dell server in for a 64Bit Sun Server.

Unread postby Gray Fox » Thu Sep 15, 2005 4:03 pm

Trade in any qualified Dell server and get a 20% trade-up allowance off the list price on eligible new Sun Fire X4100 and X4200 servers with 3-year support services. That's a potential savings of up to $1,900 on new entry level Sun servers that have 1.5 times the performance of Xeon-based Dell servers.* Sun Fire X4100 and X4200 servers also offer up to 56% savings in power and cooling costs per year over comparable Dell servers.

Hmm. Sounds like a good idea. :twisted:

Which begins my favorite open-ended proverb:

"If you are stupid enough to purchase a Dell, you just may __________!"

Understood. Now the question is, does anyone have a Dell Server I can "borrow" for the weekend? :wink:

Hm... maybe I can get my PowerEdge 4200 with Dual PII to qualify for a trade-in... ;-)

Remember the Dell commercial where the tech dude took the old unix servers and turned them into robots and had them fighting in the parking lot.... :twisted:

Along the "burn Dell" lines, for those who haven't seen this yet, its kind of cute:

@Sparrow

This may be off topic, either way I am high as a kite! The actual question is: Is that a Indiana Jones system in your avatar?

Friends don't let friends drink and type, unless its late and the project is due in the morning. :D

As to the question, no, it is not an Indiana Jones hat. This one is closer I think:

It got a little worn out though, and so I picked up a Pendleton hat which adorns my octane while not in use.

For those who haven't seen the Dell robot ad, a short version of it can be found at

Enjoy,

Shawn
