Sun System Handbook access...

Unread postby Hakimoto » Wed Apr 20, 2005 1:40 pm

Hi y'all,

as I'm sure many of you're aware, Sun has changed the access policy of the SunSolve site. Sadly this means that I can not access stuff like:

http://sunsolve.sun.com/handbook_pub/Devices/Graphics/GRAPH_TurboGXplus.html
http://sunsolve.sun.com/handbook_pub/Devices/SCSI/SCSI_FSBE_S.html

This really, really SUCKS.

Now, please, I ask this even as a moderator of this board, do censor me if the following request is illegal under the Sun Terms to access SunSolve nowadays.

But, can anyone here access those links? I.e. has a SunSolve account with a valid Sun Support Contract Number.

If so, would one of these people be willing to retrieve some pages for me with wget, tar 'em up and make 'em available to me?

I just picked up a pristine SunServer 20 and I can't friggin get all the documents needed, and also I'd like to have the specsheets to some processor modules and the stuff sitting in the "dexter1-so-kindly-sponsored SparcStation 1+" awesomity (is that a word? ;-) ).

Comments on this or help would be most highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

still haven't figured out how to reconfigure sol9. my friend's SS5 didn't have enough RAM, so I took the drive, put it in a ss20, installed it, returned it to the ss3, and now it'll boot into single user, but I can't figure out how to mount the fs rw, and I can't figure out how to get it to realize it needs to rediscover the hardware.

Oh nice, thanks guys! That's already lots of help. Is there a way to use the web archive wayback thing to dig up more stuff?

I don't use it much, but it looked like you could follow links in there... and if you find urls you can't get to, you can try it.
