With SCO almost dead, there aren't enough anally retentive unicies around?
Because CDE is the best desktop I ever used. Seriously.

Oh my, they've set a tough challenge.

EDIT: It is not my opinion that all flavours of UNIX are anally retentive, I've just had the misfortune to use some bad ones.

Such as?

As for CDE well it's been replaced in Solaris 10 with Gnome (though you will still have it as an option) not that it's much of an improvement, still i found it fun translating parts of Gnome into Irish :)

quote: "Your story can be factual or fictional and should be related to why you love or dislike Solaris OS or to a particular experience you had with Solaris OS"

Fictional story? That's too easy :).

quote "You are expressly prohibited from violating any third party intellectual property rights, including copyright or trademark, or from engaging in unlawful or unsportsmanlike conduct in telling your story. "

Unlawful or unsportsmanlinke conduct in TELLING a story? Luckily in .NL there's much more legally alowed then in the US.

quote "By entering this Sweepstakes, entrants agree to: <snip> (b) release and hold harmless Sun, <snip> from any and all liability with respect to acceptance, possession or use (or misuse) of the prize or participation in this Sweepstakes. "

So what kinky things can one do with an IPOD that I don't know about?

You have to remember that Sun is roughly a half hour south of San Francisco and their new place is barely five minutes away from a really nasty neighborhood :-)

Whatever version of solaris is on the two sparcstations I've got lying around :D

Seriously, they're as bug/crash-laden as your basic install of windows 95....
