Hi there.. I was recently forced to reinstall solaris on my sun blade 1k system.

Now is there any way to extend /root to another physical volume, or grow it with growfs without having to reinstall?

Regards

Ryan

Sun docs is always a good place for this kind of stuff. http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/816-45 ... dk4?a=view

Question though. Any reason you chose not to run Solaris 10 with ZFS on it? Dual 900 is plenty fast for it.

Sigh... Well I suppose its because of the availability of patches.. Mainly because XVR1000 performance is relatively poor in Solaris 10u5..
and because I need to have a valid Sun contract number to download those patches.

:-| Does anyone have those GFB patches for 10u5?

I think if you run u7 / u8 the patch should already be there. Technically, though I have the patch and a sunsolve account, I would be breaking the license by giving you the patch.

Right I found a solution how to use the SunOS 5.9 (Solaris 9) Drivers with Solaris 10u5.

Will create a new post to expain how to get the most out of your XVR 1000 in Solaris 10

Hi,

I realise this is a bit of an old post to be replying to...but having just updated to Solaris 10 u7, I assume that I'm correct in thinking I should have the latest patches for my XVR-1000 and shouldn't need to worry about dragging the driver over from Solaris 9?

Of course, all the documentation links are broken since the Sunsolve move.... :(

Cheers,
Steve
