I'm trying to install the IMPACT Compression software on an R10k Indigo2 running Irix 6.5.13.

Downloaded the 6.5 driver install package from Ian's SGI depot.

Trying to install it in Software Manager - two packages appear:

IMPACT Compression Execution Environment 6.5
IMPACT Digital Media Base Execution Environment, 6.5

However for all sub-components I get the following conflict:

"XXX is incompatible with eoe.sw.base (IRIX Base Execution Environment)"

Two options are offered: Do not install, and Open New Distribution. I've tried opening my Irix overlay discs but it does not resolve the conflicts. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Follow-Up: Found what I needed in the unbundled directory on overlay disc 3. Damn you SGI for playing hide-and-seek with your software installs!

Of course, my demos/driver CD for IMPACT Compression comes with a single dir containing
both the base files and the update files for whichever OS the buyer wants. Aww, ain't
I nice. ;D

Glad you found the download useful! It's a great piece of tech. I could capture hours
from a clean source (eg. composite from cable box) with no frame drop.
