Schleusel and I have played with svnserve and test it with a repository. We also get the Apache2 module up and running. Schleusel provide a initscript for starting the svn server. Its located under http://www.kanera.de/neko_svnserve. Who ever build the next subversion package dont forget to add the init script and chkconfig flags into the tardist.

regards
Joerg

Shouldn't that be done while it's still in beta? Seems like a good idea to add that in before going 'current', especially since you've already done all the work on the script :)

Ok, done. The init script is now included and i added some installation notes to the relnote file.

Todays update:
neko_pgsql-8.1.5 - fast relational SQL server

Looks like there are no changes in the *.so.* naming scheme since we have create the 8.0.3 package. So moving it to /current would not break anything i hope :)

regards
Joerg

Yup. Thanks joerg! I try it (subversion) as soon as can get some breathing room at work or home! Whoo...rough month. I'd like to see if it works with ViewVC.

new in beta:

neko_ffmpeg-SVN-r6775.tardist - audio/video conversion tool
neko_x264-0.54.594.tardist - H264/avc encoder

MPlayer 1.0rc1 was released on sunday, i'm packaging it up for this weekend (sorry for those repeating delays *sigh*). The vo_sgi h.264 display issue still persists and it was beyond me to fix it so far.. if i don't find enlightenment before the weekend i'll just keep it that way (people can still work around it), hoping for vegac to find time to look at it before it gets out of beta.. :-)

The ffmpeg update is an svn snapshot from yesterday to have the included libavcodec in line with the mplayer 1.0rc1 included one. It includes dexters mips4 libavcodec patches of course (also included as a separate patch).

weeell, ok.. neko_mplayer-1.0rc1.tardist (try one ;-) ) is now in beta.

I hope that those who got used to the static 1.0pre5 builds won't lynch me for the massive row of prereqs of this one ;-) For those who don't need the GUI there is a separate selection that installs a build without GUI and "only" 2/3 of the prereqs..

To actually run the GUI build with GUI, use the gmplayer command - using mplayer will run the usual command line version. I've included a set of skins for the GUI in a separate selection. A fm icon is also included (using the .fti/.ftr provided by unixmuseum :-) )).

I hope the build works well enough for most. So far, the already mentioned display skew issue of vo_sgi when playing h.264 samples is the only problem i'm aware of - but i'm sure there is a lot more.

For now, the skew problem can be worked around by adding one of the video filters - the cheapest one in terms of additional system load should be -vf scale without further options (this goes through the software scaler doing a simple copy without actually scaling anything).

ok, feel free to give it a whirl.. i hope i didn't overlook all that much :-)

Ah, very nice! Trying to install it now - got a problem:

Code:
Inst> conflicts

neko_mplayer.sw.gmplayer cannot be installed because of missing
prerequisites:
  1a. Do not install neko_mplayer.sw.gmplayer (1)
  1b. Also install neko_audiofile.sw.lib (2 - 2147483647) from an
additional distribution -- insert another CD or specify another
      software distribution.

A while back (June) we moved neko_audiofile out of 'current' as it was a duplicate for neko_libaudiofile as discussed here:

I have upload the following into the /beta directory

neko_pound-2.1 - http reverseproxy and loadbalancer

Some things which already compiled fines but not package because no time left.

libdnet-1.11 - portable interface
SIDPlayer-4.4 - plays C64 music files
pstree - shows the processlist as a tree

regards
Joerg

Excellent! I'll give moving my Lighty+Pound+Mongrel setup to IRIX a shot, now. By the way, RubyGems 0.9.0 built and installed perfectly with MIPSPro 7.3 on 6.5.30, but I don't have 7.4... could you give this a shot when/if you have the time? :D

After building RubyGems from source, the rails (and all prereqs), capistrano and mongrel_cluster gems installed and work wonderfully.

No worries, thanks for that! Found another one though:

Code:
360174: 11:30:39 /usr/nekoware/bin/gmplayer: rld: Fatal Error exit/longjmp: Cannot Successfully map soname 'libsmbclient.so.0' under any of the filenames ...

I have:

Code:
I  neko_samba           10/29/2006  samba 3.0.22 print and file services for SMB/CIFS clients

Which provides:

Code:
f 58310  4924 neko_samba.sw.lib     m usr/nekoware/lib/libsmbclient.so

Making a symbolic link from /usr/nekoware/lib/libsmbclient.so to /usr/nekoware/lib/libsmbclient.so.0 seems a valid workaround but not ideal :)

Whoa, this is definitely not my day :-( No idea why i had a libsmbclient.so.0 in my /usr/nekoware/lib - according to showfiles not belonging to any package. Well, i'll rebuild mplayer now. I deleted the package on the ftp to avoid further confusion..

Looks like that i have forget to modify the description .... it has to be samba 3.0.23c.
