Try porting the latest zsh and tcsh while you're at it, if you don't mind!
:O3x02L: R16000 700MHz 8GB RAM kanna
:Octane: R12000 300MHz SI 896MB RAM yuuka
:Octane2: R12000A 400MHz V6 2.5GB RAM
:Tezro: Quad R16000 700MHz V12 8GB RAM murasaki
:Indy: (Acclaim) R4600 133MHz XL Graphics 32MB RAM
:Indy: (Challenge S) R4600 133MHz (MIPS III Build Server)

I am probably posting from yangxiaolong, HP Z230 with Xeon E3-1230v3, 16GB RAM, GeForce 750ti, and running NetBSD and Windows 8.1 Embedded.

No 'porting' needed. I just dlled zsh-5.4.2 from https://fourdots.com/mirror/zsh/, configured as:

CC=c99 CFLAGS="-O2 -n32 -mips4" ./configure

compiled with MIPSpro 7.4.4m and GNU make. It compiled fine without any modifications.

I installed into /usr/local and the shell seems to work just fine.

Of course, once you actually try and do something real with it most probably will blow up and kill your favourite pet parrot, but that's just the price you have to pay for progress. Innit?

Hmmmm......love me some zsh goodness on IRIX :D Maybe that's what I'll do today.
