OpenSSL / OpenSSH for mips3

Unread postby Fleeno » Thu Dec 29, 2016 7:52 am

I've been trying to install OpenSSL and OpenSSH on a mips3 machine and have run into some issues with what I've found in Nekoware.

If I try to use SSL and SSH from mips3/current, I get this:

OpenSSL version mismatch. Built against 9070bf, you have 90807f

I tried to use the versions from mips3/beta, but that OpenSSH is actually for mips4:

[IRIS]:/usr/nekoware/sbin $ file sshd
sshd: ELF N32 MSB mips-4 dynamic executable MIPS - version 1

Does anyone know if the correct versions are out there somewhere? Thanks!

Packaging a recent openSSL/SSH for mips3 and mips4 is high on my to-do list, but i'm currently tied up in gemrb development.
There are some package inconsistencies in current nekoware directories, apologies for that.

You can get an openssl/openssh from recent IRIX media: version 6.5.22m has openSSH 3.6.1p2 with openSSL 0.9.7d
Make sure you are running an R4400 CPU: the R4000 rev 2.2 has a few processor bugs which renders your machine useless when installing the most recent openssl/ssh from IRIX media (they didn't test that )

i made a standalone package for you. it contains openssl 1.0.2f, zlib 1.2.8 and openssh 7.4p1. just throw the mips3 folder into /usr/local and adjust your environment variables.

Thanks so much, I'll try it this weekend!

And I have a super advanced R4600, so hopefully I'm good!

I finally got around to trying this, but for some reason I can't get it to work:

[IRIS]:~ $ ssh
-bash: /usr/local/bin/ssh: Bad request code

The included openssl binary does run, however!

Which environment variables do I need to adjust? I updated my path, and library search path, but is there anything else?
