Firefox 3.0.19 tarball

Unread postby diegel » Tue May 03, 2016 2:08 pm

I build a Firefox 3.0.19 with all dependencies under /opt/mozilla . It is completely independent from nekoware, so you can modify any nekoware packages without destroying your firefox installation. I did this for myself, but possibly this can be useful for others:

ftp://3b1.de/diegel/mozilla.tgz

I also build a version with auto parallelization enabled in some libraries:

ftp://3b1.de/diegel/mozilla-mp.tgz

You can start it with /opt/mozilla/bin/firefox

Brilliant diegel, even using it remotely seems to make the colours much better than what I was using.
firefoxScreenShot.png

I was going to attach this screen shot via firefox running on IRIX, but adding the file gave me an error about the file extension

Code: Select all

Invalid file extension: file_1ajeim1g7khd1sb83ct1bo61gelc

Anyone else have this issue?

And now another issue on my Fuel 800MHz 6.5.30 directly on the machine (ie: not remote)

Running './firefox &' produces

Code: Select all

[1] + Stopped (tty output) ./firefox

Very similar to the thread below..
http://forums.nekochan.net/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=16718711&p=7279244&hilit=suspended+tty#p7279244
Running without the fork & and it runs, although incredibly slow. I am running the correct version that isn't Multi-Processor. I am running from within /opt/mozilla/bin directory

In the terminal where you run the command, type:

# stty -tostop -loblk

Run firefox again.

Please send me the ./firefox script. Something is muddying the waters here (switching tty modes silently, for example), and this shell script is a very good candidate.

I'll take a look at it tomorrow.

Good night ;)
