The "tech" industry is nothing but dogshit. Look into aquaculture. You can always sell good strawberries and fish. At least it's something worthwhile.

Is the broken cmake package built by me? Or the one in /beta? What does ldd say about both binaries?

I won't be able to build a new package until at least the beginning of July, since I'm in Tokyo right now and I will not return to my SGIs until then. I'd appreciate if you could check the release notes of the packages if you find bugs and PM the builder/owner of the package in addition to the post, that might improve the time until a fix is available.

Guess I have to apologize to Pymble - the cmake I have is 2.8.7 and the lastest one in /beta is 2.8.5 So most likely I tried making with the neko one, had a problem and made my own. Cocaine's a helluva drug ...

If memory serves it was a waste of time because then the archived source file came as an .xz file and I started compiling an un-xz-er but had a hissy fit instead and threw the entire thing in the trash. I'm just sick to death of this childish 'reinvent the wheel for no purpose' shit. The dorky little adolescents out there can take their crap and jam it where the sun don't shine, I'm finished with that garbage.

Oh. Canavan, sorry. I didn't mean your version of cmake sucks. I meant that the entire concept of changing everything every three weeks just so we can squeal in joy while wacking our tiny little peckers sucks. The pointless new compressed archive format did it for me. Fuck them. Count me out.

You shouldn't need to compile an un-xz-tool, 7zip should do that for you, and I think there's a version of xz in nekoware. I didn't understand your remark as referring to my specific package, but my packages do have a certain risk of unspecifeid dependencies or getting linked against stuff I haven't packaged.

Thanks, Mr C, but there is a point beyond which I will not go ... and I think we hit it. As far as I am concerned the pimply teenagers who come up with this useless shit can waste their own time. They won't be wasting any more of mine.

But xz uses a better compression algorithm! Isn't the world supposed to be beating a path to it's door?
