neko_heartbeat.tardist uploaded

Unread postby Rincewind » Sun Aug 28, 2011 10:01 am

I just uploaded a new package for a small utility which flashes the light bar of an SGI machine (at least it works with Octanes and Indies) depending of the load of the machine. So you can easily see if the machine is busy :)

Please test if it works or does not work with other machines and tell me, so that I can adjust the package to reflect that.

Best regards,
Christoph

Very cool, it works nicely with Octane (R10K/250, IRIX 6.5.30) and I was way curious because never heard before about such app! Looks like another useful tool for daily use, and to add some coolness factor, your box looks like "Knight Rider"! :)

Hehe, it's the Octane lightbar killer... Fun for those with LED bars though :-P
:Octane: halo, octane Image knightrider, d i g i t a l AlphaPC164, pond, soekris net6501, misc cool stuff in a rack
N.B.: I tend to talk out of my ass. Do not take it too seriously.

Oh!, that's a complete redefinition for the use of this app now! Never thought about that! Thankfully my Octane was suited with Blue / Red LEDs a couple years ago!

Anyway, maybe the 'tardist' should add some heavy disclaimer explaining the potential danger! :)

Cool down everyone, this program flashes the RED light on the front of the Octane, this light was always build with LEDs, only the white one with bulbs. And I guess at this time there should'nt be so many of them left

Not a problem for me either, since there are no more bulbs inside my Octane! :)
Very nice app, because makes use of such resource into a very intuitive fashion, just like everybody is accustomed to see in many actual computer gadgets.
