suggestion/thoughts: milkdrop visualization

Unread postby SGIFanLongTime » Wed Jan 13, 2010 2:37 am

Hi Devs :)

Does anyone think MIlkDrop will compile on Irix ?

It's OpenGL and would probably run quite well.... .You could route extrenal audio or play mp3s on old irix machine and give it another new purpose:)

Sources are here if anyone wants to give it a shot... once I get my MipsPRO running I will try myself too... http://www.nullsoft.com/free/milkdrop/M ... Source.zip

OpenGL on IRIX is 1.2+extensions and won't support the NVIDIA Cg Pixel Shaders. If you can disable them, it might work.

Milkdrop/ProjectM were both around before shaders - I don't know if the latest ProjectM can be compiled without shaders but going back to a version from 2007 or 2008 might work.

The source to the "real" Milkdrop was also released by Winamp themselves: http://www.nullsoft.com/free/milkdrop/ - heavily bound to Windows only, though, so really only useful as a reference for loading Milkdrop plugins.
