Here are some very important info for our developpers :[url]
IRIX Patch 5329: 7.4 Compiler Header Files for Unix98, C99 and ANSI C++ namespace std #2

So if you are facing in CC the error The namespace "std" has no member "abs" and you are using 7.4.x you must reinstall patch 5329.

Lovely! I bumped into this some time back and did a quick and dirty hack in the headers themselves. Good to see I can undo my ugliness and apply a clean fix :D
