After a power supply and TOD battery replacement, this PI 4D/35 possibly doesn't look as good as new, but does work as good as new.

Nice! Since you opened it up, did you verify that the little fan stuck to the lid of the E-module still works? Believe it or not, that little crap fan is all that prevents certain death due to overheating ...

To accentuate the special identity of the IRIS 4D/70, Silicon Graphics' designers selected a new color palette. The machine's coating blends dark grey, raspberry and beige colors into a pleasing harmony. (IRIS 4D/70 Superworkstation Technical Report)

Yes, I did. I had to take everything apart to get rid of all the dust inside. The fan is working.

It's got IRIX 4.0.4 installed, but it looks like a fresh install, no user data or applications left on it.

And of course, the picture in my original post labeled "graphics card" does not show the graphics side of the machine, but the CPU side with the FORE ATM card plugged in. Here are two pictures of the graphics side of the cardcage:

I had one of these in my office in the 90s. Even at the time it seemed very large and heavy for a "personal" anything.

This one looks very nice, very clean! :)
