SGI console and emulator downloaded but not tested yet. Thanks.

It will be difficult to sneak into the house without my wife noticing. I guess I have to tell her sometime
when she is in a good mood and/or bring a gift or something :D

I have checked the thing about the electricity rate. I think the rate is the same as for everyone else,
but being a producing industry, the taxing is different. So in the end it's a bit cheaper. I don't know
how much, I have just been told it is. (I own the workshop so I pay the bills anyway)
I think it is the governements 'help' to the industrys competitiveness.

Heck if I were you I'd spend some cash on a pure sinewave inverter, big enough to power such a unit , some deep cycle gel batteries and a garage roof full of 200/400W solar panels XD Run it off grid

I don't know how powerful it is. The cpus are 1600MHz with 6MB och cache but there is a bunch of them.
With suitable software, using all hardware, it should be quite powerful.

Modern cpus runs at about 3000MHz so maybe the Altix is comparable to a newish 32 core computer.
Probably less, since it is 8-9 years old (I think), and it isn't all about MHz :-)

I will have to find some benchmark to run.
