The somewhat sad story is that I slaughtered my Origin3200 to free up the rack :( . Since I did not find someone to help me fix the I-Brick, I decided to replace the Origin3200 with this Origin350. It has more and faster CPUs while using less space. I used some of the 3200 RAM to "max out" (I know there is 1GB RAMs) the Origin350.

So if anyone is looking for Origin 3x00 spare parts...

I should probably list what I have in the bazar.

Regarding your V12 input: I think I will consider this machine the server and use my Tezro if I want graphics. I wonder though if I should replace the Tezro nodeboard (2 x 700) with one of the Origin350 ones. The Origin would still have 14 CPUs but the Tezro would have 4. I do have some nodelocked licenses on the Tezro and I wonder if changing the nodeboard will break them.

Ooops I almost forgot:

Thank you ramq for another excellent packing job. It is a pleasure buying stuff from you. And thanks also for including all these nice little gifts! Now I have SGI branded T-Shirts, Lanyards, USB Sticks, Cups, Posters, ...

A collector's dream.

I don't have any experience with node board swaps in a Tezro, or what effects that might have on node locked licenses.

I have swapped an O350 from a 2x600 to a 4x700, and that process was transparent as far as both the system serial number and lmhostid were concerned.

Thank you, Frank. ;)

Lucky I found all those shipping boxes from actual 1U and 2U rackmounted servers that did the job nicely. Without those I would have a hard time shipping them and would probably put the equipment in risk and add further delay.

Actually I was looking at this huge pile of giveaways and thought 'naah... what the heck' and thought someone else would be more proud of them than me. Putting these items on eBay is a lot more effort than its worth, really. (Still got some original SGI paintings that either needs a spot on a wall somewhere, or they'll end up in a for sale/trade section somewhere.)

As for your O3xxx stuff, I do need front plastic parts especially from the I-brick. Perhaps you have these?
This picture reveals there's missing surrounding plastics covering the L1 display and both sides of the CDROM.
Since you have an O3200 you probably don't have an R-brick to spare... :?

Nice :D

But 4xR16k700? Surely you mean 16xR16k700 or 4x4xR16k700

Oh, and are you breaking that 3200 apart? Maybe I want the L2 (or are you using it with the O350 now?)

I didn't know anyone was looking for L2:s nowadays... (I had one for sale some months ago which only Recondas responded to)

Yes, I actually think I will give up on the 3200. Which is a pretty sad because she looked good in that rack and apart from the voltage problem (which may have been a false alarm) she was running nicely. But the 350s give more bang and take less space.

Maybe I should make a new thread in the Bazar for breaking up the 3200 instead of spamming the hinv thread.

The 3200 had no R-Brick (only 1 I-Brick and 2 C-Bricks, so no need for an R-Brick) and no L2 (L2 is only optional for the 3200). Sorry.

@jan-jaap: What I meant was 4 x 700 for my desktop Tezro instead of the 2 x 700 she has right now. I did not mean to convert the Origin350 to an Onyx350 or Tezro.

@ramq: PM sent.

I think we're talking about different things, I was referring to the title of this thread ...

May you use that system as much as I use mine. On mine the PID count increments by ~ 0.5 million a day so you could say it's seeing some action :)

I collect these things. I don't use them. (Dodging objects being thrown at me). Maybe you can PM me with some nice ideas what to do on that machine.
