Kerberos options for 6.5.x (x < 20)

Unread postby coredog64 » Mon Feb 02, 2004 12:02 am

I'm pondering setting up an MIT Kerberos server, but only if it'll help with password synch on my SGI machines as well as the other stuff.

So far as I can tell from Google, my options for older versions are:

1) Try my hand at hacking around with OpenAFS, which has some weird voodoo iaf? module

2) Replace /bin/login with some hacked up MIT version and forgo xdm logins

3) ???

4) Profit

(Okay, the last two are my homage to Slashdot  )

Or am I really screwed without 6.5.20 (or whatever version it is that has PAM support)?

Kerberos revisited

Unread postby orionpi » Wed Dec 29, 2004 11:22 pm

I'm looking at setting up a kerberos realm to unify logins between my systems (IRIX, OpenBSD, Debian, NT 5.x).

Has anyone here used Kerberos on IRIX?
How well is it intergated, is is transperent to normal operations?
What version(s) of Kerberos is supported?
