The ANIMATRIX

For Matrix and anime fans this is very cool: http://www.theanimatrix.com

So far you can download and watch the first episode. The DVD which is due to be released this summer looks like it's going to be amazing! (Yes it's created by Warner and is an official part of the Matrix story ... sort of a prehistory, anime style).

Downloaded and watched : my first feeling is "wow, it's technically perfect!".

Drawings are very complex, there's a wide use of 3d scenes.

About the story, this minimovie is like an introduction to matrix : how did the machines managed to conquer the world.

It's a very interesting movie, and it's worth the download.

Another cool site to check out is http://wonderfuldays.co.kr

The site is Korean, but just click "Downloads" at the top and check out some of the trailers, very nice 3D work in those as well!

I grabbed the first episode...
Very cool, seems the actual direction that we may be heading. It almost had a holicaust feel to the mobs and rioting. Very epic looking.

the first animatrix episode was cool, EXCEPT for the part where they had "enslaved" robots, they were pulling a heavy block up a giant ramp, while another robot was banging a rhythm on a drum.
This was completely ludicrous, it just made me laugh out loud!
I mean, come on! don't they have trucks and cranes in the &^%$#* FUTURE? Why are biped robots lugging heavy objects with ropes?
It was just a cheap shot to make us feel sorry for the robots.
the second episode was a little better.

I am looking forward to seeing Cowboy Bebop in the theater on April 4th. Should be very cool!

Hmm ... I guess "coming in April" doesn't mean as soon as April starts. Bummer :(

It's up for download now!

Edit:

Just watched it ... I liked this one a lot. Those high tech yet retro computers were extremely cool ... I want one!

That was a good episode....

I want a 1905 IBM typewriter KB....

I did notice that the month following the last web downloadable episode, they are going to release a DVD with all 9 episodes. Mmmm...... Can't wait for that one.
