Currently been powering through Martian Successor Nadesico and Log Horizon. The former being so tonally all-over-the-map that it approaches being the Excel Saga of space/mecha anime, but with an actual worthwhile plot, and the latter being the best approach I've personally seen to the "MMORPG players wind up in the game for realz" premise that everybody seems to be doing these days.

Hm... I don't know if I posted these before, but I very recently watched these and can recommend both, despite their being really weird. But hey, it's from Japan, right?

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3615204 - Hâmonî
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4235644 - Shisha no Teikoku

Both from Project ITOH. Haven't gotten my hands on the third oeuvre yet. But definitely planning on!

the world. And that other computers and operating systems
will do with brute force what the Amiga did years before with
grace, elegance and style.

If you like complex storyline anime like Akira/Ghost in the Shell then you will probably love Tekkon Kinkreet. It is my all time fave.

It is strange at first because it doesn't follow the usual anime look formula, but it is an amazing experience.
