The world of Cosplay and my grad trip

Unread postby pentium » Thu Aug 30, 2007 9:47 pm

I finally managed to sort through six weeks of email (It took nearly two weeks! ) and along with spam was photos a frien sent while he was at a convention in vancouver. As usual, Cosplay was a must for him.
Now I'm planning on going to the event next year (GRAD 08!) but so far my friend insists I whip out the singer and the thread box and go to Fabric land. :| Is cosplay something for starters or do you need some experience (EG. you loved to dress up as a kid. See below.)

Now from what I hear the costumes can range from primitive outfits made from cardboard boxes..

...To incredibly detailed, custom built costumes that can cost small fortunes.

You guys know me and just for the input does it sound wise for someone like me to attempt Cosplay without making a fool of me and my friend? I know how to sew, A cadet uniform requires incredible amounts of upkeep.

In line with resisting the urge to make fun of Naruto, and its fans....

Just stick to cadets and computers. As with any hobby, Cosplay can be a massive waste of your disposable income if you get serious with it.
