I doubt you will find anything SGI in Akihabara - yes you'll find loads of old PCs, some somes and lots of Apples but in 3 years I never found anything SGI like...As always, the best bet is ebay.....

oh and Narita airport has an excellent range of generic non-tech, souvenirs as you are leaving, as do most of the tourist traps (Kyoto, Tokyo Disney, etc)..

Respectfully, I think you mean Sensoji Temple.

You can buy stuff around Sensoji Temple as can be seen in the 3rd set of pictures down on this page..
http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e3001.html

There is nothing to buy in or near Meiji Shrine.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meiji_Shrine
It is a special place, extremely open, vast almost, but I have not seen shops there.

I normally enter the shrine from the Shinjuku side and leave from the Shibuya side. Near the exit there are normally wannabe punk kids on the bridge with all kinds of colourful hair and there is a small cafe selling European food named aftera Benelux coountry or something (maybe "holland cafe" ??).... quite exoitic for my friends. I saw a Shinto wedding at the Shrine once.

Yes, there is.
You can get Hamaya, Omamori or other Shinto related stuff just outside the shrine, or get tradition souvenirs from the kiosk.

Yeah, as a matter of fact, when my wife an I visited Meiji we bought a couple bottles of sake from the shrine's gift shop, which worked out to be a very useful coincidence. We used one of the bottles of sake from the shrine when we performed our half of a jichinsai (ground-breaking ceremony) for the washitsu addition on our house.
