if only they had gone and provided a decent icon editor or a way to convert data from illustrator & co. iconsmith was not a pleasant experience, neither was the whole process of setting up icons. so i just stuck with defaults mostly. i also don't remember many fancy icons on irix, a lot of thirdparty graphics apps i used looked pretty barebones on the desktop.
shame too, just remembering what people used to achieve with these two-stage icons on the amiga workbench - could have been nice in vector graphics fashion on the sgi.
