Scrounging through the junkpile I came across some parts of this, maybe the whole thing ? Is it anything worthwhile or should I just clear out that folder ?

It was a renderman-compatible program similar to BMRT, Entropy, or Pixie.
Probably worth hanging on to.

RenderDotC supported an unusually wide array of platforms, even some very uncommon ones (including multiple architectures for various types of Linux and *BSD). There was even a port of it for HP-UX IA-64, remarkably, I seem to remember.

They still list IRIX and HP-UX on their website. Color me impressed! (unless they folded in 2013...)
