Sgi o2 sketchup model?

Unread postby big_mac » Mon Feb 04, 2013 12:48 am

Greetings!

I've been searching for a model of the o2 for sketchup without any luck, does anyone here have one that they can share?

Cheers

I have this wrl file from somewhere (I take no credit for this work), but I was not able to load it into blender and export it to some other format. Perhaps it's a first starting point.

O2_skin.wrl

Huh! I converted it to an stl and tried to attach it, but phpBB says The extension stl is not allowed.

Maybe you can zip the file and upload it?

Could you convert it to a more common format like .skp - I can't open your file in sketchup :/

Do any professional CAD products export to Sketchup yet? Or, perhaps more to the point, will they ever?

How about 3ds? Sketchup claims to be able to open that...

Just a heads up for anyone else looking for this: Found this website which contains alot of 3d models of the o2.

@vishnu, maybe you can convert the models to 3ds - your last one worked like a charm :)

3ds as a file exchange format, whoda thunk...

Hmmmm, this might not be so simple:

VRML read error: File does not have a valid header string, @ line 1
VRML read error: Wrong Header [/home/vishnu/doc/proe/sgi/O2_assembled.wrl], @ line 1

IRIX has some tools which can convert various formats to OBJ. Try IvToObj (VRML files are a subset of the Inventor format, IIRC).

Hello! I'm getting an error when I try to expand the archive? Could you re-upload it?
