So since I cant find a good way to burn irix onto cds to be read by the cd rom im stuck with dina. The problem is that dina on both vmware and virtual box isnt seen on my network with any adapter settings and thus I cant get the irix files onto it. Anyone have ideas? Searching the fourms and wiki haven't pulled anything.

Why is that?

Does the usual set of commands (ran on Linux) does not work?

1) To create image from existing CD:
dd if=/dev/cdrom of=cd-image.img

2) To save it onto another CD:
wodim -vv -eject cd-image.img

Or if the problem is that you don't have the CDs/CD images in the first place, the images can be found on http://www.archive.org.
From there, they should work when written to CD on any OS?

I have tried writing the cds with the archive links many times but they never worked. If you have any ideas on how to properly burn them on windows I would like to know.

I find that of the windows based burn software, 'CDBurnerXP' recognizes the SGI images just fine for burning to CD...

You probably need to change the setup in the "Virtual Network Editor" which came with the VMware Workstation package.
