Just curious, do you have write caching turned off for the disk? That can make installations steps like rqs take much longer.

I would say I don't have the write cache off.

But what I see is, that every time I connect another hard drive the SCSI bus is not working, but after a reboot/power cycle it works like there were never a problem. Today evening I know more when I start up my Fuel.

Hmm, could be the SCSi cable. Examine it closely, there might be a break somewhere. I've seen some pretty weird SCSI bus behaviour with Fuels when the cable is damaged. Usually the damage occurs when sliding the disk tray in or out, all too easy for the cable to caught.

Ok, I can reproduce it, every time I give power to the Fuel it does not find the hard disk, but after a power cycle it works like there were never a problem.

Can anyone say me how the connector, which connects the SCSI cable to the motherboard, is called?

It's sort of an inverse 68pin IIRC, not sure what its proper name is. Does sound like a bad ribbon cable.

Are you using a 68 pin drive or an 80 pin drive with an adapter? If you are using an adapter make sure the "motor " jumper is installed. This will let the motor spin up at power up.
If the thing isn't on fire it's a software problem.

I fixed the problem. It was the RTC battery.
