Hi,
I have been using Octane2 for many years and now decided to change the login window. I got the login screen like on the following picture. How to change it to login screen with user icons?

Hello malol, welcome to nekochan.

You didn't mention how you changed the login window, but you might check the configuration state for "noiconlogin". If it's set to on, try changing it to "off""
Code:
chkconfig noiconlogin off

I have not changed anything since I got this machine 8 years ago ;)
I am not a UNIX geek, so I am not aware of all the command magic. I got SGI just for one UNIX only software.

Yesterday I was just curious how to make login screen looking better. Thanks for the hint - I found a website with detailed description of the login settings http://madeira.cc.hokudai.ac.jp/RD/take ... login.html and now I know that I was using xdm login.
