Itanic mobo

Unread postby donny » Sat May 14, 2005 5:30 pm

I've got the chance to snag an Itanic2 1.4ghz/4mb cache proc gratis. The only issue here is finding a decent ATX/EATX mobo to put it in. Intel's site doesn't even list any compatible motherboards. The only ones I find by Googling are Supermicro mobos going for $1200+. Anyone have an idea on where I can source a cheap one? I'm not trying to sink too much cash into an Itanic spaceheater.

I wish SGI woulda had that same thought a couple years back

Could try Ebay. Im sure i've seen some cheaper ones, but even they were expensive. Perhaps as Itanium servers are pretty much always bought as complete units, it means motherboard (spares) are hard to get hold of?
