Your favourite XKCD comic

Unread postby JacquesT » Sun Jan 14, 2018 10:45 am

If you're a fan of Randall Munroe's XKCD comic strip post your favourites below. My wife bought me his What If? book as a small Christmas present and I thought I'd see if there are any other fans on here...

(Please remember the forum rule here : no politics)

Starting it off we have Tech Support, only because we generally have such rubbish tech support in the UK. "Your internet isn't working? OK, could you go to this website to download..." if just one of my most recurring ones!

I'd like to say it's The Circuit Diagram, but that comes way too close to my everyday grind, basically the same reason why I couldn't watch The Office.

Not necessarily my favorite, but I have been guilty of this now and then:

This one has to illustrate the stories of all our lives, no matter whether you started dealing with computers in the 50s or in the 2000s:

It is so relevant I get to use it to make a point at work at least once a month.

That reminds me of how despite a lot of time and a fair bit of money I NEVER got my Power Macintosh 9600 to work.

Huh? Not sure what that site is about, the "no politics" is just so peops don't repost any strips with political content, that's all. Most of his aren't political based.

I refuse to be limited to some arbitrary number of xkcd comics, unless that number is asymptotic to the number of xkcd comics currently known to exist.

Hem hem, as an actual physicist, I will quote another physicist:

"It should be emphasized that when we say a limit is “equal to infinity,” we are not trying to say that infinity is a real value that a function can have. If 0 <n< 1 then xn is some root of x, but any positive root of x still grows without bound, so the limit approaches infinity."
