Cheap interior, poor panel fitment and overall just crap quality for a small off-road SUV. All of the AMC-based Jeeps around here that are still running have tons of rust on them and often times broke 4WD. The Chrysler ones just haven't progressed passed mid-80s in build quality. That's the biggest issue I have with Chrysler - they aren't any good compared to modern day competition unless you want a ghetto Bentley flying brick.

The chassis are the same, but everything else isn't. I've been behind the wheel of several Daimler-Chrysler era Mercedes (S and E class) and they're a lot easier to work on, in their own way, and more reliable, than what Chrysler shat out during the same period.
As for Fiat, well, Fiat used to be good in the 1970s and 1980s but Italy got hit hard in the 1990s and 2000s with the economic downturns and it has adversely affected any car brands they have owned. Lancia has been reduced to rebadging Chryslers.
