Looks more like Ford Maverick than the Cortina. I had -75 Ford Capri once, so have soft spot for old Fords.

American muscle cars look great but are really only fast on straight road.

Oooh I had a Ford Capri as well, my first wife to be drove it head on into a telegraph pole so hard it dislodged the pole. She was on the way to put the deposit on our first house. She was unhurt, the car though took me a year to get fixed. It was fast, I put a 2.0litre engine in and left it running off the 1.6 Diff, which allowed it to pull away like a rocket. Maxed out about a 100 MPH or so though.

Interestingly, we never put the deposit on the house and brought one elsewhere a year later. 1 Wife and 17 years later or so, I brought a house in the same street as the original house with wife number 2 and still live there today.

While it was being fixed, I brought a Light green dog ugly Ford Cortina 2.0ltr Ghia for £40. I had it for the duration it took me to fix the Capri, during which time someone threw a breeze block through the back window and stole my sports bag (which contained dirty underpants and socks). I sold the car on for £50 later with the breeze block still on the rear seats.
