I'm busy trying to decide what my next purchase (or two) will be as I'd like to make a bit of a significant investment in computing hardware this year. Mainly as the last time I spent any significant sum on things was several years ago when I got my Fuel. Hence, trying to decide between the following:
Major PC upgrade/replacement: Guts of my PC are from 2009, and although it still runs fairly well and has had the odd upgrade along the way, it is starting to show its age, and modern games only now run with fairly modest quality settings.
Replace my Mac Mini: My Mac Mini is an old Core 2 Duo system from about 2008. It runs 24/7 as a BitTorrent machine plus dues a bit of file serving as well, but it won't run any more modern Windows than XP, and it's as maxed out with RAM/HDD as I can realistically get it. Considering a NUC style machine as a modern replacement, plus I would use it for running a Windows Server VM to allow seamless RDP stuff from IRIX (similar to what necron has done).
Buy a new ThinkPad Classic when it comes out soon: My current laptop is from 2010, and although it still handles most of what I want, the chance of getting my hands on a properly modern laptop without an awful 16:9 screen, and with the classic ThinkPad keyboard as well would be pretty sweet!
Decisions, decisions...
