Bad assumption.

Uh oh. In that case, when I get around to actually working with the system maybe I'll make a separate post in the appropriate place for troubleshooting. I've got too many other project ongoing to work on this one, at current (I couldn't pass it up for the price).

EDIT: I've picked up a hard drive to try, so we shall see. Worst case scenario I can use it in my Axil.

Also, I thought people were joking about how easy it is to break SGI plastics. I've opened the case once since receiving it, and two of the tabs that hold the lid on have already sheered off. I've never had the plastic on Sun's machines do this.

The Indy was my first SGI too (first one I ever used and wasted time with sgidoom and the IndyCam instead of doing work in college, and later the first one I ever owned). I'm fond of the Indy despite its flaws.

My lovely bose soundsport headphones broke down after several years of abuse. In a fit of stupidity, I thought I could replace them with the "simply awful, in every way" Apple Airpods.  After two days of putting up with that BS, the problem has been solved:

Latest purchase is a Mattel Electronics "World Championship Football" 2 player vintage game. Need to get another pair of AA->C converting cases in order to try it out. BTW are there any emulators for the olden Mattel Electronics handheld games?

I know MAME has started to emulate some handheld games. It looks like they support "World Championship Baseball" and "Star Hawk" from Mattel at the very least, maybe others, but I can't find a definitive list.
