Oh sweet, I'm actually hoping to get an A3000 myself someday. Where did you find yours?

eBay - I have certain Amiga models set on alert (at this point I'm only missing tower variants of the 3k and 4k and a desktop 4k, and I'm looking for a bargain on those)

One came up for $500. I sent a message, offered $420. They accepted.

I've had a few 3000s. This one I got because it has a Gotek already installed, AND it has some rare Zorro IIs I can resell to offset the cost of blowing most of my bonus on it.

The 3000 is, IMHO, the best of the Amigas, BUT it's far from the fastest because the ECS is a 16-bit only datapath - the later AGA is a 32-bit datapath. The 3000 is sufficient for most Amiga software, though.

Jens Schofeld plans to do a Amiga 1200 board recreation. When that's ready, I plan to buy one of those along with the new replacement cases available.

Some of us can't even afford a Fuel, and that's basically 1/4 of a Tezro! :P

The thing that beats me is that Fuel's often tend to go for more than Tezro's do on the bay! (For some reason, they just seem to be more popular, maybe it's got something to do with their colour! :) )

The other day, I saw a fuel sell on the bay for $1800! (Granted that it was a 800MHz R16K, but that's still crazy!)

That's weird, the last Fuel I saw on eBay was going for...$400? Granted, it was a 600MHz, but $400 definitely sounds a lot more reasonable than $1800!

@Raion-Fox: A new 1200 board? I'm definitely interested in that! I want to get one of the new cases too but they seem to be sold out everywhere so I guess the initial run is already gone.

I think in this case it's due to the rarity of the 800 MHz CPU module. The funny thing is that Iv'e seen quad 800MHz Tezro's sell for less.

The crazy price people will pay for something rare I suppose.

There are two Fuels on eBay right now at the top of the list: one at $202.50 with 22h to go and one at $1,500 Buy It Now. Crazy!

Yeah, the discrepancy between the most expensive one and the cheapest one is genuinely hilarious.

Agreed, we will just have to see how the bidding on the cheapest one goes, it usually rises rapidly in the last 10 to 15 seconds.

Anyway, can we use this thread for Xmas gifts too? Because I got myself an Amiga 500 for Xmas courtesy of Raion-Fox...

The bottom picture, the seller is renew_electronics3 and I got one of their Octane2 units as a parts donor. It was quite poorly packed and arrived with the PSU handle completely broken off. Luckily it was otherwise intact (easy-out and new bolts should fix it)

I went to Target today to look at Switch games and ended up coming home with a SNES Classic instead! Now to hack it and put on games like Chrono Trigger and Final Fight 2.

I got AIDS!

CGS_7782.JPG

CGS_7783.JPG

It is a package educational set for an interactive laserdisc that discusses AIDS. In the pack is the laserdisc, some paperwork and documentation, a copy of Hypercard with the stack and a serial cable that connects your MiniDIN 8 Mac to one of the compatible Pioneer laserdisc units with the 15 pin computer interface, which I happen to already own.

There was also one of the really cool "low production run" 3M videodiscs at the same place I got AIDS. There is also another limited run disc from Sony with a REALLY REALLY NICE fabric inner sleeve instead of the usual paper or plastic ones, however there's a giant sticker over the original sleeve cover and trying to peel it off seems to want to lift the ink off the sleeve. :(
