I've been using an apu2c4 running pfSense for a while now and couldn't be happier.

Glad to hear! I've ordered for it already a Wi-Fi mini-PCIe card from China, two antennae, and a 32GB mSATA disk for the system and to store the eventual packet capture. My friend wants to have a all-in-one thing.

Mine's purely a router, I do wireless with a dedicated AP (currently an old router, but I plan to move to a mesh solution). I tried Linux based routers with AP functionality without much success before. Always something: either it needs an unavailable blob for proper (= full speed) functionality, or it doesn't work on 5GHz, or not in AC mode or whatever.

My internal LAN is segmented into several VLANs; e.g. regular LAN, admin LAN (e.g. FC switches, SAN gear, PDUs and other things my kids don't need to know about), SGI LAN (more relaxed re. the use of ancient protocols). I also use the third port for a third network port for a DMZ: that's where the external facing web server lives. The APU2C4 and pfSense make all of this work.

I have more or less the same setup, segmented and etc, and use separated access points, routers, and switches. Nothing is the same device and everything is redundant. The only single-point-of-failure is my HAProxy box (Dodoid's mini Indigo), but I can do a quick intervention with my phone to move it to the virtual mirror in case it's needed.

The Intel board I bought should be compatible in ac mode with FreeBSD 11, so I'm going to give it a shot. This is for my friend, and he has a wife to please. My own box would probably have everything separated as well.

It's a nightmare to get a decent [S]VHS player, I've wasted tonnes.. until now!!

£30 got me the below, which after a head clean is working very well. Fingers very muchly crossed.

I spent a bit too much on a mystery PC ($35)...I was enticed by the huge server-type case but inside it turned out to be a Pentium 4 gamer rig that doesn't boot properly. Why can't I get away from NetBurst machines, I've had like six of the things and even when I'm not looking for them I seem to end up with them!

Those are some affordable Amigas! Especially if that 500 came with a mouse, power brick, and software.

No, neither came with a mouse or kb and I lack any software at the moment. I plan to make use of the Gotek floppy emulator and my Sega arcade stick for some classic Amiga games tho.

You're lucky. Be very careful with the purple "wings", the plastic notches which allow you to close them again after having opened them to plug the various cables, are very easy to break, especially as the plastic dries over the years. Be very gentle, never force the thing open.

IMHO this simply has to be one of the most aesthetically beautiful pieces of hardware ever produced by anyone ever!

It has to also be one of the rarest pieces of hardware available today, as most collectors don't even know that such a thing exists! (Very few pics on Google and the pics that are available are only posted from a few sources.)

In this case, that's a really good thing, as I managed to bag this one (brand new) for 33 Euros!

I got carried away and bought some more ZX Spectrum stuff. ZX Evolution rev. C was feeling lonely, so now it has couple friends to keep it company. Pentagon 2.666le board and ZX Evolution rev. B are my newest toys.

i have received my VIC20, it was dirty, i have cleaned it, plug it on a flat 19 inch TV , plug a 1530 k7 drive with a game , arcadia, and turn it on, and it work !!!!
So i have downlaod the whole TOSEC collection and build some disk images with games compilation, transfert these on an old laptop with a floppy and a real // port, connect a real 1541 disk drive and writed real 5 1/4 disk from .d64 image files... and it works again !!!!

Finaly i have buyed an ebay a 16Kb memory extention.....
