Damn that's sad, but it's good to hear they made it into the hands of someone who understands their value and can repair them. God knows how many of them ended up at the dump. Hope he comes back with the software.

He made me promise I wouldn't scalp someone online for any of it if I resell. I do not intend to. One of the systems is going to a computer museum. The rest I'm keeping.

I bought a Lucid ADA8824 Discreet A232 interface. Eight channels of audio in and out, with ADAT connection to the SGI. It was the last piece I was missing to restore the Discreet setup on my Tezro to full working order.

Right now my Tezro is sitting on the Dmedia breakout box. I'm thinking of building a 19" rack like this to put all AV equipment of the Discreet setup in (I keep the FC arrays in the server rack so the noise doesn't drive me crazy). I will use my existing stereo equipment for monitoring.

I never bought a personal computer back in those days because we had a ton of CP/M machines running off 8-inch floppies in six-foot-tall 19-inch racks, and I thought "how can tiny little things like that be a real computer?"

I found me a second Canon A1 Digital. Now I have two matched cameras for my stereoscopic tripod.
Came in an aftermarket bag with all the necessary stuff like manuals, cabling, (dead) batteries, straps, random tape of Anon's first birthday and the AC adapter, plus the optional shotgun microphone.
Like my other camera though, you open the tape compartment and give er' a good sniff, you smell fish. Like every other thing from the 90's these cameras also have failing SMD lytic capacitors. Hurrah.

I know this is either the high-end or prosumer line from Canon with the L1 and L2 being the top of the line in this form factor but even 16 years later and with everyone now safely using HD and solid state recording devices, why the hell are the L1 and L2 still several hundred dollars??

A NAD 3020a stereo amplifier to go with my little Rega P1 turntable. After I De-dusted it, cleaned it out with a brush and compressed air, replaced a broken fuse holder it's back to working order and sounding sooo sweet.

Few goodies scored during the last two weeks:
- Mint looking dual 867 MDD G4. I need to work on making it silent. It's going to be a gift for my friend, to edit audio. He has got a child, so won't have much time to come to our studio anymore.
- Time to be honest, so I bought the Final Cut Studio.
- A new, sealed, mint copy of Shake.
- Not pictured: a PC Engines board, with AES-NI support, to be my future router and replace the Ciscos in the VPN I have with a few friends.

I've been using an apu2c4 running pfSense for a while now and couldn't be happier.
