Collecting knives?
I'm a totally newbie in this area. I do own a Buck Titanium Model 186 [produced for a rather short time in the mid '80s], and one of Boker's Dinosaur Collectibles. Otherwise, what would you recommend to look for to start a decent collection?

Possibly the most desirable knife for any collector would be the OJ Simpson Original. If you could find that, you would be able to buy your own island in the caribbean.

Re: Collecting knives?
I think you need to get one of those big Bowie knives that could pass for a Roman gladius if it weren't for the distinctive Bowie silhouette. Those things look like they must weigh 5kg...
If I went down this road, I'd be worried about someday showing up in a photo like this. This is the guy I think of when I see that somebody has posted a deal on katana, wakazashi, and tanto "samurai sword sets" on Woot.com...

PS: "brute" should have been written with a capital first letter, though

I have some nice Katana's. But not a collection, rather an ornamentation. A collection without a use is senseless to me.

Ornamentation could be a use, technically...

Re: Collecting knives?
OT: I might be wrong but it seems to me that a few of our members indeed collect SGI boxes [including even a museum - although I don't know whether it's open to the public]. As I hesitate to assume you are accusing them of acting senselessly, in your opinion the use of such a collection is what?skywriter wrote:A collection without a use is senseless to me.
