For a country with the right to keep and bear arms, you'd think they'd be nervous, wouldn't you ? This guy is something of a fruitcake but his description of the Savings & Loan scandal is remarkably accurate. And infuriating. And a few years later, after this test run, they did it again on a much larger scale.

MBA's create our wealth ! the middle class is a bunch of leeches sucking off the beautiful rich !

Well, seems like someone is a good strategist:

And since the citizens of the PIIGS ain't allowed to bear arms, the plan will likely succeed....7 decades after it was launched.

Actually, you can own weapons in the EU.

Very hard in Ireland, for example handguns are basically illegal, and to get a license for a hunting shotgun or small bore hunting rifle (.22) you get a full security check. Having a warzone for 30years on your northern border tends to result in such things.

Not that it stops guncrime. The drugs importers tend to get free guns with their big imports.

Yeah, but as I said... technically you can own guns in most places in the EU. I have no issue whatsoever with people having to pass background checks and having to display a certain level of proficiency before being able to operate and own machinery designed specifically to kill people.

But that is neither here nor there with respect to the scope of this forum.

"Gee Brain, what are we going to do tonight?

Same thing we do every twenty years, Pinky. Try to take over the world."

That line seems to work for many government officials, though...
