ah, well, we have a daily talk about plastics, but when people promise documentation, or a talk about technical stuff ... and it will never happen (at least in public) within a windows of two years, and probably never ever. The same happens for humor, or when you want to sell something. E.g. when you offer something for free, and people first complain on shipping, then they want freaking services, and then they also complain that the parcel is gone lost. LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

Full expectation disappointment.

btw, all of this began with a sarcasm pearl, but JJ always wants to be the first lady.

Not so glamorous as it may seem.. its a basement storing the remnants of my shuttered dedicated server provider company from the 2000s (customers rented out full SUN servers remotely for a monthly fee; niche focus was on 'military grade' cybersecurity on Solaris/SUN hardware.. as well as other hardware that ran various UNIX flavors). Basically a secure rent-a-datacenter with UNIX admin included. After the dot-com crash.. all these amazing used SUN servers were offloaded cheaply on ebay so entry into this business to re-purpose them was low. The cars where far cheaper at that time too.. except I had a lot more of them back then.

Sorry for the delay, been off chasing Scripts of Unusual Size in the Great Swamps of X. Lemme tell ya, them barstidges pack a mean bite ! Locked myself out of the Octane, my daily-use workstation, several times.

I'll attach what I came up with, for those running at high-res. It's basic, needs a lot of work, can't upload to neko ftp because bein' in China means I'se a Bad Boy, maybe one of you greenies could move it to my contrib directory ? But the good part is, you can actually see the cursor. Even with substandard vision. It's neat.

Ooogabooga !!

Sir ! shee-it, where you get that stuff, anyhow ?

About the other, nah, not out of line. Dexter1 is not elected, he is not Royalty, he speaks for no one but himself. Unless of course he has a nice hot squishy-fresh turd in his front pocket. Then he can place his hand in said pocket, smoosh it around a little, and declare "We ! That is, my turd and I, have decided that you are a no-good louse ..." etc etc. I don't go for this assumption that he speaks for me. Or anyone else, really. And I don't go for this brown-shirt style Group Shaming crap, either.

Sorry. I wuz born in the USA. We ain't supposed to do that shit. Tom said so. He was also apparently the president of the united states of love a time or two ... Tom was a bad boy sometimes ...

yes, Dexter1 is not the owner but part of the mod team which has householder's rights. and although anyone can register and post here it's a privately run forum after all which means the participants are not entitled to anything.

God, I wish no one had ever invented that stupid word "entitled." However, websites are, by definition, places on the web. Unless there's a secret handshake to get in, they are public. A while back we accepted the situation that if you have a coffee shop, you have to serve niggers, too.

Unfortunately the web seems to be somewhat behind the times, allowing sixth-graders with an inferiority complex to lord it over other people. Oh well. When Mr Dexter has gone back to playing cartoon games, I'll still be running the Octane and plowing my way through Irix software projects. It would be nice if he'd grow up and actually contribute something worthwhile for a change but alas. I amn't God either. It is what it is.

Back to the Giant X Swamp, if I can find that damned Motif bdf editor I can maybe do something about these klunky double-sized fonts ... nice to see the danged cursor for a change tho. Yippee :P

r feet r stained fer now !

That's one awesome poster!

It represents the relationship that SGI had with the Aviation Industry very well! :D

As far as the moderators on this site go, dexter1 was just performing his duty as a moderator! (Ensuring that the members keep to the topic being discussed and that they don't start to squabble with each other! We all have our own opinions of things, but that does not mean that we need to get nasty when we cannot understand or agree with someone else's opinion!)

The political aspect of human beings is probably the aspect that I hate the most!

Politics and intelligence are usually inversely proportional!

Successful people are usually not protestors or activists and don't usually have anything to prove, as they have better things to do such as getting on with their careers and their lives!

As far as the human race is concerned: People absolutely need to be governed! And you will find that if you just get on with things as you're meant to (live a good honest life that is) then you will not come to blows with those that have to govern society!

As for absolute freedom, there is actually no such thing! (As an intelligent being you should surely realize that you will always be reliant on or subject to some kind of system that governs your existence to some degree.)

Consider this statement: "Freedom is chaos" (A world in which everybody is expressing their own freedom without any form of governance in likely to be chaotic one!)

It amazes me why people stay around if they don't like the site or the members, and if it were a public coffee shop, the owner/manager of that coffee shop still has the right to refuse entry, since it's their shop or they have been given the task to manage said shop, rather like a pub can do.

Everyone here is entitled to create their own forum dedicated to stuff they do rather like if they wish.

It seems that Dexter1 is TheOne, the elect super user who owns your ass and can give you a punishment.

People have complained in private about that.
Nothing has changed.
A lot of things are still wrong here.

And lot of people is already gone.

add me in the list.
