Yeah, I missed that too. Was logged onto ebay and got to fiddling with some other things and absolutely forgot about bidding on it. Yeah, I'm a sharp one, let me tell you. Ugh. I not only want one, I need one. :( Thanks canavan. At least I have some options to look into now. Part numbers help a lot....

O2 digital A/V module. Where to find?

OK, I've looked in various places for this but they seem to be a bit difficult to come by. I'm looking for the O2 Digital A/V module with the genlock cable which looks like this. http://www.starr-studios.com/comp/O2_digitalAV.jpg I don't even have a definitive part number for this. Any help would be...

So, this is true with every 6.5.x version out there? Dev work is on f stream and non-dev work is on m stream? Or is it a plot to make us all made with the naming convention to create envy and lust for something with the name "feature" while the lackluster term "maintenance" screams mediocrity? :razz...

Speaking from theory, no. The faster CPU speed would not offset the lack of L2. Think of your application usage with an increase in just RAM alone. No amount of CPU will overcome low amounts of RAM. This is a very noticable metric of performance due to the lack of speed in all RAM (compared to L1 an...

Which is better and why: Feature vs Maintenance. FIGHT!!!!

Ok, so this post is like 4 months overdue for me. I know I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but this has been on my mind recently. After buying a few more sgi boxen and reinstalling 6.5.x on them, I am asked to choose which option in the "stream" I want to swim in. I've installed using both w...

The 320 is an Extended ATX form factor. From what I can tell the 540 isn't based on any ATX variant.

The 230 and 330 are also based on an Extended ATX form factor.

No, just those CDs won't do it. You need the 6.5 Foundation 1 and Foundation 2 CDs.

As far as BeOS goes, it's really quite simple. Point it to a blank partition it can read (FAT32) and tell it to go. bootman is likely to be your next bootloader. It's clean, simple and friendly with other OSes. Quite possibly the nicest bootloader in existence. What version of BeOS do you have? Gran...

blackcube, I'm currently in the same boat you were with regards to installing W2K on VW 320. I have 1.006 PROM and figured I would have to pull the drive and wipe it on another machine. On the selection of the sgi MP HAL, does it just show up and you select this option or do you need a CD with this ...
