Re: Dodoid Mini Indigo is now on sale!

I do not plan to at this time. As of the cancellation of preinstalled Raspberry Pis in Mini Indigos, Raspberry Pi support in miniature SGI products has been discontinued, and physical compatibility and mounting hardware for the Raspberry Pi in future devices will likely not be available. This is due...

Re: Gallery gone?

Perhaps we should get an archived copy to torrent then? Very little bandwidth usage for Neko but allows archival. I did make semi-frequent use of it for my channel though, and would have submitted some hi-res shots of my machines if it was still open for new images.

Re: Best workstation to start with?

The only SGIs I've ever gotten in that price range were my non-working Fuel (which was really incomplete and still doesn't even boot to PROM because SN1 is SN1) and an Indigo2. With the Fuel, I've had to spend well over the price of the original machine on parts and it still doesn't work, and I got ...

Re: SGI website using way back machine.

This was a MAJOR source for my History of SiliconGraphics series. Essentially no third party sources keep dates for SGI events, so their website's own press release archive inside the Wayback Machine allowed me to find dates for things that happened in quick succession. Think about a year like 1993....

SGI did a desktop O2, and a deskside Onyx. They also did that one-off O2 laptop. Where's my Onyx lapside?

What I am suggesting is that the clean image from Microsoft or Apple already contains a decent amount of privacy-invasive online data collection software.

Re: your latest purchase

Your Razer came with Windows and its telemetry and cloud integration, and your MacBook Pro came with iCloud, though the spying is much more optional in the case of the Mac. I agree about the stupid input devices on Lenovos of a few years ago, I'm just saying they've improved now, that's all. Here's ...

Re: your latest purchase

They got rid of the touchstrip and the fake trackpoint buttons, and many users, myself included, and don't care about the trackpad when there's a TrackPoint available. The spyware is sucky, but if you expect the factory installed software on a laptop not to include spyware from either the manufactur...

Re: Dodoid Mini Indigo is now on sale!

I posted an update about the Mini Indigo over in the thread in SGI: Discussion. Essentially, the Raspberry Pi 3 is no longer offered as a pre-installed option (of course, the ODROID-XU4 is still available), but can be installed aftermarket if you so desire, and the website now supports coupon codes....

Re: Project Update Thread: Miniature Indigos

Time for another quick update on the product. First off, let's talk SBCs. Since the launch of the Mini Indigo, I have shipped many units with both the ODROID-XU4 and with no SBC. However, to date, not a single order including a Raspberry Pi 3 has been placed. This is likely due to the Pi's lack of a...
