Re: Mini-PC fit in an SGI hard drive bay?

The D1 is the evolution of this idea. It was originally planned to use an XU4S, but in order to simplify the design and fit better within the PCI form factor, some design changes have been made. The D1 has a USB port, so WiFi on your SGI is software from there on in. The D1 is designed to be an open...

Re: Welcome!

"dig up" is a bit of an overstatement, really. You can just punch "nekonoko, sort ascending" into the search and it returns this.

Re: your latest purchase

IIRC VoidLinux runs on just about anything, and is extremely lightweight, if you wanted to try that. Failing that, I have gotten good results (as in, daily usability) all the way back to a Pentium III using Puppy Linux Slacko.

Audio is just music. The D1 does have an onboard computer, but it is not a PC.

Re: Introducing D1

Is it a PC that runs on PCi card so you can rdesk into and run modern browsers? It is not a PC (not even x86) and does not use rdesk. what kinda price range are we looking at ? I don't want to talk about exact prices at this stage of development. That decision will be made when we are working with ...

Re: Introducing D1

 Franken-SBC to use as a proxy with an O2 o.0 :?: ... hello interwebs, my name is O2  The D1 is not a proxy or a NAT device, though it does make use of network for communication with the host system. As a matter of fact, the host system acts as a network gateway for the D1, which appear...

Introducing D1

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hHFDLAa0LsQ Just released this, just in time for Nekochan's 15th birthday. D1 is my fifteenth birthday present to Nekochan and to the SGI community. It's a new category of device, not a Mini Indigo successor. The video is a bit light on detail, but I hope I can have s...

Re: Things to buy....

I want a KGPE-D16 based Qubes+Libreboot workstation. The reason I specify KGPE-D16 w/ Libreboot over the Raptor Talos II is because of the Qubes OS support. I really like my Librebooted T400, and just recently I released a script to make Qubes on Libreboot a lot easier (http://dodoid.net/qubreboot)....

Re: Happy 2018!

Happy (approaching) birthday Nekochan!. I don't know whether it will be ready to go on sale for the date of the anniversary, but I have a project underway that I suspect will be very interesting to the people here, likely more so than the Mini Indigo. It will be announced then, but here's a hint: 62...
