Re: IRIX 6.5 won't boot

At the prom select 5 and then enter 'single' without any quotes.
Then check if it's trying to mount something by looking at /etc/fstab.
Delete any external mount lines.

Well, would be a nice system to build on and I need some Octane memory, the 1.4 Xbow is good also, and yes it's in nice condition. So I'd replace my Octane with ...

Re: Restoring an Indy, have some questions

Good to know. But the thought of setting up a VM, setting up an ethernet network (everything is Wifi here), getting everything talking to each other, etc... So I was thinking when you first posted that you had bought the Indy to get the keyboard & Mouse for another SGI? If that's the case, life...

Re: Restoring an Indy, have some questions

Also, I'm afraid question 3 may be out of order..

But yes, take the time and do a network install, mgtremaine is correct.

Re: Sun WorkShop Question

Have faith, I'm pretty sure the CD includes a licence server. That's not the issue. What the OP needs is a FLEXlm license code which ties a feature (SUN Workshop compiler) to a hostid (his system). Because SUN (now Oracle) will not just issue licenses to just anybody, the package you buy comes with...

Re: Sun WorkShop Question

I haven't yet, just read the manual. I'll give it a try and see, but based on the documentation, I don't have a lot of hope. Maybe I'm being over pessimistic as I've had a lot of vintage software 'shit the bed' lately (shakes fist at Oracle Server for OS/2). It's left me in a mean mood when it come...

Have you installed all the software off the CD? I had no issues years ago I'm sure and never had to contact SUN.

Kind regards Mark.

Re: Tezro stuck on Gfx Cfg Err

So, I have two network adaptors in my Tezro.. Gigabit Ethernet: eg0, module 001c01, slot -1, firmware version 0.0.0 Integral Gigabit Ethernet: tg0, module 001c01, PCI bus 1 slot 4 This would indeed suggest that tg0 is the one built into the io9.. BUT.. look at the below adaptors.. Integral SCSI cont...

Not meant for you, but Jan mentioned you could still see the network card, but I questioned that its' the additional card tg0 that you could see not the one built into the io9 eg0,
